The challenge

To generate an web deliverable, 3D reconstruction of the Anglo Saxon Jarrow Wearmouth monasteries with interactivity and additional game content.

Our solution

We studied in great depth Anglo Saxon history, the life of Bede and the archaeological reference books created by Rosemary Cramp to piece together the puzzle of a site that was c1300 years old.

We also worked closely with Numiko (our partners) and Sunderland Council to obtain as much relevant facts and reference as is available.

The results

A compelling reconstruction of the two sites as they may have been at the time of the Venerable Bede

A wonderfully informative interactive learning experience complete with game modes and virtual tours

A successful tool for remotely demonstrating why the Jarrow Wearmouth monasteries deserve their place as World Heritage Sites
